Just a quick thank you for all of your comments on our posts! We loves reading all of them and love that so many of you feel as though you are experiencing our adventures right along with us.
Now back to more adventures.
When we left Yellowstone we traveled across Wyoming stopping in Cody and Buffalo for a few nights. Then it was off to the Black Hills in the Custer, South Dakota area. There are lots of things to do and see in this area.
Our first stop was Custer State Park. This is an amazing park, there is so much to see and do. Something for everyone.
The wildlife loop is a fun road that offers twists and turns and the opportunity to see, you guessed it, wildlife.
This guy created a traffic stop all by himself!
The Needles Highway is an incredible scenic drive. The granite spires are beautiful.
If you decide to drive the Needles Highway, just be aware of the tunnels and their height and width restrictions.
Yes that is the hood of our truck and the walls of the tunnel!
The town of Custer is a great place for shopping and restaurants. We had lunch at a The Begging Burro. This was the first time Maverik went out to a restaurant with us. He did a great job. He mostly laid by Ed in the corner. Cole was an excellent boy as always.
I also had a chance to hit up another National Park. The Wind Cave National Park is about 40 minutes south of Custer.
This cave is very different than the other caves that I have experienced. There is no water that seeps into the cave, so there are no stalagmites or stalactites. Instead, this cave is full of something called boxwork formations.

Although we didn’t get there this time, Mount Rushmore is also in this area. The Crazy Horse monument is here as well.
The Black Hills of South Dakota is a wonderful place and can’t wait to get back here again!

That Wind Cave looks so different from the caves that I’ve been in. You certainly get into some really cool spots. I was amazed that your RV made it through that tunnel and sheer walls; I’d have been freaking out if I were driving.
