Hot Springs was a neat spot to spend a few days. I would say that it was a cool spot, however, it was anything but. We started to hit triple digit heat in Oklahoma and the temperatures weren’t letting up. We stayed at Lake Catherine State park, which was a very nice. We had some great views of the lake from the front of Dash so we saw some gorgeous sunrises.
The campground had some really great trails through the woods. We even had a chance to walk across a swinging bridge!
We took a short ride to the Hot Springs National Park. Each of the National Parks that we have visited have their own unique characteristics. This park is definitely unique! The grand architecture of the historic bathhouses, ancient thermal springs, mountain views, incredible geology, forested hikes, and abundant creeks – all in the middle of town – make Hot Springs National Park a unique and beautiful destination. When they say Hot Springs, they are not kidding. The water comes out of the ground at 147 degrees. There is a filling station in the center of town where people come to fill up large jugs. Two of the bathhouses are still functioning. The Buckstaff and Quapaw bathhouses offer private baths and public thermal pools.
We enjoyed Hot Springs, but it’s time to get on the road and see what is waiting for us at the next stop.

Is that Cole on the bridge?
Looks like you three are having a great time.
I was thinking just the other day, it’s about time for you all to head back this way. Enjoy the rest of your travels.
Miss you and Cole! Tell Ed hello and hug Cole.
Chase is doing well. Back at the park ! The grass is staying wet and messy. They are watering too much.
You had me confused, email title said Hot Springs, Alabama. I thought, that’s new not aware of a hot springs there! Ran a golf tournament in Hot Spinks, AR & didn’t even realize there was a national park there. A reason to go back some day!
