Our next stop was Myrtle Beach. We stayed at the Hideaway RV Resort. It is located right on the intercoastal, so we could see the boats going up and down the water right out our front window.
While in Myrtle Beach, we played some golf, walked along the beach and had a blast. Cole really enjoyed his time on the beach.
Whenever we are in a coastal town, we love to find a local seafood market and get some fresh seafood. Our favorite place in North Myrtle Beach is Platt’s Seafood. https://www.boulineaus.com/platts-seafood/ Their stuff is always fresh and they will steam shrimp and clams for you.
Since we were in the south Myrtle Beach area, it was a little far to go to Platt’s so we needed to find another location near Murrells Inlet. We walked into Murrells Inlet Seafood Market https://www.murrellsinletseafood.com/ and my inner voice said, this not a place where I want to get seafood, even though the place had great reviews. As we were walking out, a gentleman was walking in and asked us ‘I didn’t have what you want’? We answered no, and told him we wanted some steamed clams. His response, ‘you’ll have to go to a restaurant to get them’. All righty then! After checking out another place close by, we went back to Murrells Inlet Seafood. You see as I was driving, the griddle master was busy engineering a plan to steam the clams himself on his griddle! An aluminum pie pan, his melting dome, some water, and voilà! Steamed clams!! You can bet I’ll be asking for them when we get home!! We also had shrimp and some amazing crab cakes, all cooked on the griddle. We bought some blue fin tuna and yellow fin tuna too. All of it was excellent! We now have favorite seafood markets on both ends of the Grand Strand!
After we left Wyoming, we had several more National Parks on our list.
Next up was Rocky Mountain National park in Colorado. We stayed just outside of the park so we had some beautiful views. As we traveled on the park roads, we saw this guy.
What was even more amazing was later that evening, we saw this, in our campground just steps from Dash.
