So Dash needed some fuel. These days the price of fuel is very high and Diesel fuel at the truck stops just off the highway is about $4.60/gallon. At a regular gas station, it is about $3.90. The truck stops are set up for big rigs with easy in and easy out lanes. The regular gas stations, not so much. So guess where The Finance Guy wanted to go.
It was my turn to drive, so I had done my research and had a station picked out. I looked at satellite photos on google maps (seasoned RVers say that is the best way to make sure you don’t get yourself in a bad situation). My choice of stations had a direct lane in and a straight shot out where I could catch a light to make a left turn and get back on the highway. A good plan, right! Until we pulled in and a Budweiser truck blocked one lane of the exit. I never did like Budweiser. Now what? Now we get to drive up a hill with an S curve to get out. Oh and don’t smack the gas pump with truck on the way out. I would have taken some pictures, but I was too busy listening to The Finance Guy bark out orders on when to turn the wheel and generally stressing me out!! In the end, we made it up the hill, S-curve and all. I learned a lot about the capabilities of Dash and about my own abilities. Life does teach you things in strange ways!
After we left Wyoming, we had several more National Parks on our list.
Next up was Rocky Mountain National park in Colorado. We stayed just outside of the park so we had some beautiful views. As we traveled on the park roads, we saw this guy.
What was even more amazing was later that evening, we saw this, in our campground just steps from Dash.
